Disney+Hotstar has finally revealed the OTT release date of its highly promising K-drama Uncle Samsik. Streaming platform is on a thrilling ride to serve its audience with intriguing and suspense-packed K-dramas. After the concluding episodes of the thriller The Impossible Heir, Disney+ is all set to bring another mystery K-drama to its exciting library of Korean contents. Starring the web-series debut of Oscar-winning movie Parasite’s actor Song Kang-ho, the upcoming mystery K-drama Uncle Samsik will premiere on May 5 and continue to run with weekly episodes until the concluding episodes on June 15.

Written and directed by Shin Yeon Shick, Uncle Samsik marks Korean star Song Kang-ho's first appearance in a K-drama. Leading the star-studded ensemble with the titular character of Uncle Samsik, the series also features Byun Yo-han, Jin Ki-joo, Lee Kyu-hyung, and Seo Hyun-woo in prominent roles.
In a new teaser clip unveiled on Disney+Hotstar, we are introduced to the promising character of Uncle Samsik, who ensures the wellbeing of his family against the odds. In the teaser, mysterious character of Uncle Samsik enchants everyone around him as they continuously call his name. One of the characters then asks the meaning of the name, and the other explains beautifully that it is someone who would provide three meals a day for himself even during the difficult wartime.
Set in war-torn Korea, the drama revolves around Park Doo-chil, nicknamed Uncle Samsik (Song Kang-ho), who is loved and hated by many people. Byun Yo-han plays Kim San, an elite Korea Military Academy student.
“Everyone calls me that out of love and respect. I love it so much, my nickname,” Song Kang-ho says confidently with his intense expressions.
