Under The Bridge OTT release date: The upcoming true crime web series will debut on OTT this summer. Based on the 1997 murder of Reena Virk and a novel of the same name by Rebecca Godfrey, the series has been adapted for the screen by Quinn Shephard and produced by ABC Signature. The limited series follows the true story of a 14-year-old girl who went to a party with her friends and never returned.

Under The Bridge will be released on Hulu in the United States on April 17, 2024, with two episodes. The subsequent ones will air weekly. The series will also be available on Star+ and Disney+ internationally, including India. Under The Bridge recently shared its trailer, which gives a haunting glimpse of the transmogrification of innocence into evil.

Under The Bridge plot
Under The Bridge follows the tale of 14-year-old Reena Virk, a Canadian-Punjabi girl, who went to a party with a group of friends, where she was later tortured, stubbed with cigarettes, punched, kicked, plummeted, and finally drowned to death. Although she had initially managed to evade the group, she was followed and again attacked by two of them before being sent to her watery grave.
When swirling rumours had consolidated into the ugly truth, the police took out the helicopter and found her partially clothed body ashore the Gorge inlet 8 days later. The haunting murder of a girl, bullied and racially discriminated by her own female school peers, made national headlines. But why was Reena killed?
Despite being mistreated and bullied, she had a troubled teenage life at home, smoked marijuana and hung out often with her friends. Was it a racial crime or are the reasons more sinister? Although the police are only able to do a surface sweep of the motives of the perpetrators, Rebecca Godfrey, a writer with zero crime reporting experience, may be able to throw more light on them due to her sincere and unconventional approach in the upcoming true crime series.
