UP CM Yogi Adityanath felicitates Major team, Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s parents

Major, the biopic of 26/11 blasts hero and armyman Sandeep Unnikrishnan, has lived up to its title and has turned out to be ‘major’ success at the box office as well. Starring Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj and Revathi in crucial roles, the film written by the male lead himself, was helmed by Sashi Kiran Tikka.

The film has grossed a little more than Rs 65 crore at the box office emerging a big hit in the Telugu version. Earlier this week, team Major was honoured by UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Adivi Sesh, producer Sharath Chandra, parents of Sandeep Unnikrishnan and other select crew took part in the meeting held yesterday. The UP CM congratulated the team on the film and offered them special gifts.

A week ago, Major team also offered special discounts to school children for the film screenings. Adivi Sesh had even surprised the students with his presence at one such screening. The team has been relentlessly promoting the film before and after its release and other filmmakers must take a leaf out of their book and showcase the same amount innovation and aggression in their promotions.

Produced by Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment, Sony Pictures International Productions and A+S Movies, Major has music by Sri Charan Pakala and was cinematographed by Vamsi Patchipulusu. Edited by Vinay and Pavan Kalyan Kodati, the film also featured Murali Sharma in a key role. Netflix has bagged the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights and will premiere the film in the early half of August.
