Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu opened with a bang yesterday with the FDFS being screened across the state at 4am. The film, which is helmed by Vamshi Paidipally and bankrolled by Dil Raju, has opened to positive reviews and Vijay's terrific screen presence has become a talking point. Vamshi, who shared pictures from the meeting, said that the meeting was to thank Vijay for trusting the team and acting in it. The duo also presented him a small bouquet and the trio looked happy with the attempt.

Taking to his social media handle, Vamshi wrote, "Thank You for all the overwhelming Love for #Varisu... Thank You Nanbas and Nanbis..Thank You Thalapathy @actorvijay Sir for all Your Trust.. (sic)." Dil Raju and Vamshi Paidipally had watched the FDFS of the show in Chennai yesterday and had celebrated  the occasion with Vijay fans who had turned up in large numbers.

Varisu is a family drama and action entertainer with an ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Ganesh Venkatram, Yogi Babu, and guest appearances by SJ Suryah, VTV Ganesh and Sriman. The film has music by Thaman, cinematography by Karthik Palani and editing by Praveen KL. The film clashed with Ajith's action entertainer Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor.

In the meantime, what has grabbed the attention of social media users is Vijay's new look, especially the hairdo. Vijay is all set to be seen in director Lokesh Kanagaraj​'s ​next, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy67. Speculations are rife that this Vijay's look from the film and since the shoot for the film is underway, it has only added fuel to the fire. This is Vijay's second collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj after their hit film Master, which revolved around a drug mafia. Vijay played an alcoholic teacher in the film, who is assigned to teach children at a juvenile home.
