The expectations on Veeran escalated after makers unveiled its trailer more than a week ago. ARK Saravan of Maradhaga Naanayam has directed the movie which stars Hiphop Tamizha Adhi in the lead. Debutant Athira Raj essays the female lead in the project which is billed as a superhero film.

Vinay Rai will be seen playing the antagonist in it while Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat among others play fun-filled pivotal characters. The team narrated their experiences working on the film during its trailer launch and a press meet which took place in Chennai recently.

The team has now surprised one and all by roping in none other than Basil Joseph, director of the popular Malayalam film Minnal Murali, another superhero movie which impressed cinephiles across the country after it dropped on Netflix in 2021.

The makers have unveiled a promo video featuring Adhi, Saravan and editor Prasanna. It begins with Adhi taking a dig at Saravan for the similarity Veeran shares with the acclaimed Mollywood project. The dejected filmmaker asserts that the Tamil movie is different and asks Adhi if he would be convinced if Basil himself gives a clarity on the same.

The director connects Basil through a video call and asks him what he felt about the trailer of Veeran. Interestingly, the Mollywood filmmaker couldn't stop saying that he, too, found similarities between the two films, leaving Saravan disappointed. When Adhi asks him to make a movie in Tamil, Basil disconnects the call.

Later, Adhi points out that there are people who have been finding similarities between Veeran and a few Hollywood movies and asks Saravan if there is any possibility of interacting with directors who made those films.
