The trailer of RJ Balaji's upcoming film Veetla Vishesham has been released during the IPL Playoff match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore today (May 25) in Mumbai. Going by the trailer, the film seems like a faithful remake of the original, Badhaai Ho, which was directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. Urvashi as a middle-aged pregnant woman aptly fits the role, and giving him company is Sathyaraj, also known for his sense of humour.

"Here’s our #VeetlaVisheshamTrailer !!!💖 https://bit.ly/VeetlaVisheshamTrailer , wrote RJ Balaji. Balaji had made the announcement of trailer launch with a video on his social media page and he had said that just like his earlier films LKG and Mookuthi Amman, the trailer of his upcoming film, too will be launched during IPL.

He had said that the entire star cast of the film, Sathyaraj, Urvashi, Aparna Balamurali, will all be present at the trailer launch. Balaji added that he was excited that he was finally having a release in theatres after two years. He summed up saying that Veetla Vishesham is a film that can be watched with the entire family. The film is releasing on June 17.

For the uninitiated, Veetla Vishesham is the remake of the hit Hindi film, Badhaai Ho (2018). Urvashi has stepped into the character portrayed by Neena Gupta in the original and Sathyaraj will essay the role played by Gajraj Rao. The late actor KPAC Lalitha will be seen in the role portrayed by Surekha Sikri. RJ Balaji and Aparna Balamurali will play the characters portrayed by Ayushmann Khurana and Sanya Malhotra in the original.

The plot revolves around a middle-aged couple, who get pregnant, much to the chagrin of their grown-up sons. The film bagged two two National Awards. Badhaai Ho also had a spiritual successor in Badhaai Do, which released earlier this year starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar.
