Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal on Sunday marked the first anniversary of his acclaimed film Sardar Udham. He thanked fans profusely for their love and support for the movie. The 2021 film, directed by Shoojit Sircar of Piku and Vicky Donor fame, had Kaushal in the lead role of the freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh. The 34-year-old actor, who received several awards for his performance in the film, took to his Instagram handle to express his gratitude and celebrate the film’s first anniversary. He posted a series of his pictures from the film, along with the caption, “It's been a year. Forever grateful. #SardarUdham."

The film traced the journey of legendary freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, who sought to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. He assassinated the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India, Michael O'Dwyer, in 1940.
Produced by Rising Sun Films in collaboration with Kino Works, Sardar Udham also starred Amol Parashar and Banita Sandhu. The screenplay is written by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya and the former also plays a supporting role in the movie. The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 16, 2021, after being relayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vicky Kaushal is most notably known for his performances in the films Raazi and Sanju, which were two of the highest grossing Hindi films of 2018. As for his upcoming releases, the actor is currently immersed in the shooting process of Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur, a biopic on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. He will also be seen in Govinda Naam Mera and untitled films with Laxman Utekar and Anand Tiwari.
