Vijay Deverakonda’s next to star Kiara Advani?

Vijay Deverakonda has his name attached to one of the most anticipated films of the year, Liger. And it seems that the star has already set his eyes on his next project as well, his 12th film. In the upcoming project, which is tentatively titled VD 12, the star will reportedly share the screen with another familiar face in the industry, Kiara Advani.

According to a report in News18, Advani has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Deverakonda in VD 12, a role which the actress said yes to instantaneously, adds the report. If confirmed, the upcoming project would mark the first time Advani and Deverakonda share the screen together. It would also be the actress’ fourth Telugu film. She had starred in Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu (2018) and Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019). She is also currently working on Charan’s upcoming film, tentatively titled RC 15.

Although details regarding the project are sparse, the film is reportedly helmed by Shiva Nirvana, who recently helmed Tuck Jagadish (2021), and will go on floors by the end of the year.

Deverakonda, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of his film Liger, which will mark his first Hindi film. The film has been generating quite a lot of buzz, especially since it was announced that boxing legend Mike Tyson would make a special appearance in it. 

The film, which marks Tyson’s first Indian film, is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar. In addition to Deverakonda and Tyson, it also features Ananya Panday.

Liger is slated to be released in theatres on August 25, 2022, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
