Arasan is an upcoming Tamil film, headlined by Silambarasan and is in production currently. While the makers had announced the casting of Vijay Sethupathi in the film, some reports suggested that the actor had to leave the project. However, now, Vijay Sethupathi has given a clarification if the information is true or not. Arasan is directed by Vetrimaaran.

Director Vetrimaaran is currently working with Silambarasan for their upcoming film Arasan. As already stated, the film is set in the Vada Chennai universe and is expected to have a star ensemble. Arasan is a gangster action drama, with Anirudh Ravichander scoring music. Actor Vijay Sethupathi was also announced as part of the film. But reports surfaced that the actor had to leave the project due to date issues.
However, in a recent fans’ meet held by Behindwoods in view of Soodhu Kavvum re-release, Vijay Sethupathi clarified to a fan who asked about his exit. “There is nothing like that. Rumours are always fast to spread. Even we don't know. Every time, some or the other rumour spreads and we don't know who initiates it,” the actor said.
