It wouldn't be exaggeration to say that Vikram is one of the most aggresively promoted Tamil films in the recent past. The team has been releasing one update after the other, keeping the audience hooked to the film. The latest in the list is a video of the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj comprising videos from BTS. In the video, we also get a glimpse of Lokesh doubling up as Kamal Haasan's makeup man.
The makers shared a video comprising BTS action and captioned it, "The story of our Director @Dir_Lokesh! #onlyontwitter #KamalHaasan #Vikram #VikramHitlist #VikramInAction #VikramFromJune3 @ikamalhaasan @VijaySethuOffl #FahadhFaasil @anirudhofficial #Mahendran @turmericmediaTM (sic)." In the meantime, the team also released the first single Badle Badle from the Hindi version of the film, titled Vikram Hitlist.
Vikram has Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil sharing the screen space along with Kamal Haasan. The film also has a special appearance by Suriya. The supporting star cast comprises Gayathrie Shankar, Antony Verghese, Narain, Arjun Das, Kalidas Jayaram, Shanvi Srivastava, Shivani Narayanan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sampath Ram and Hareesh Peradi. Cinematography for the film is by Girish Gangadharan and editing is by Philomin Raj. Music for the film is by Anirudh. Vikram marks Anirudh's second outing with Kamal Haasan after Indian 2.
The digital rights for Vikram have been bagged by Disney + Hotstar and the satellite rights have been acquired by Star Vijay. Vikram NFTs were recently launched at the Cannes Film Festival 2022.
Even as the buzz around the film's release gets higher and higher, over 1,000 piracy sites and internet service providers are prohibited from the unauthorised screening of Vikram, according to the Madras High Court. This was the result of a petition from Raaj Kamal Films International (a production house owned by Kamal Haasan), which requested an injunction against 29 internet service providers, besides 1,308 websites for unauthorised copying and transmission of Vikram.
