Kiccha Sudeep has been away from the big screens for quite some time but only because he is in pursuit of something grander than usual. His much-awaited fantasy 3-D experience Vikrant Rona is gearing up for a worldwide release that is due in a few weeks and the anticipation among the fans has only been cranking up with each passing day. Alongside, Sudeep has also been making the news for his stance on the National Language debate that has gained traction beyond proportion in the last few days. Addressing these and many other topics, Sudeep recently spoke to a popular Kannada news channel wherein he managed to share a few vital details regarding Vikrant Rona.

When asked about the upcoming mega release of the film, Sudeep shared that while the release prep is currently underway, the makers are simultaneously wrapping up the post-production work. He also spoke of the intense campaign that a film of such stature requires, alluding to the recent massive success of KGF: Chapter 2 across the country.

"As far as the release preparations are concerned, I wouldn't say that the film is 100% complete. The final version of the film is ready but we are left with a small portion of the post-production duties. The campaigning for the release, though, is already underway in full vigor and to make sure the film reaches every other state in India, one needs many heads working together to design that system. We are currently on that,"(sic) said Sudeep in the interview. When the interviewer referred to the significance of campaigning and publicity for a pan-India venture, especially with respect to distribution, Sudeep duly agreed.

A recent enunciation of this would be K.G.F: Chapter 2 which was picked up by major distribution agencies across the country to provide one of the biggest releases in terms of the number of screens. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Pictures partnered with Anil Thadani for the Hindi version of the film, producer Sai Korrapati (Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram) distributed the Telugu dubbed version and Dream Warrior Pictures did so with the Tamil version. Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, having heaped praise on the Yash starrer, came on board to distribute the Malayalam version of the film. The Hindi version of KGF 2 alone collected close to Rs. 500 crores (nett), highlighting the universal appeal of the film.

Coming back to Vikrant Rona, the film was initially slated to come out in cinema halls on February 24 but the makers chose to delay the release due to the third wave of the pandemic looming large. Anup Bhandari writes and directs the film with Shalini Manjunath and Jack Manju producing the film, and Alankar Pandian co-producing it. The makers recently the first single Ra Ra Rakkamma (features Jacqueline Fernandez and Sudeep) which went to becoming a trending number on the internet. Jacqueline makes her Kannada debut with Vikrant Rona and will be seen in a special appearance as Raquel D'Costa aka Gadang Rakkamma.
