There’s still a long way to go for the release of Kiccha Sudeep’s fantasy action thriller Vikrant Rona, but the team has stepped up promotions and how. After what seemed like a very long lull, the team is now in full swing. Two weeks since the mega successful Gadang Rakkamma song launch, we hear that the next update is due soon.
Early on in the promotions of Vikrant Rona, the team had released a promotional route map, which listed out the order in which fans could expect to get news about the film. According to this map, the first update was a teaser, which they did with the release date teaser, which should have been followed by the song, Hey Fakira, then Gumma Banda Gumma, Lullaby Song, Chikki Bombe Song, couple of surprise announcements and only then the Queen of Good Times – Gadang Rakkamma. This was then shuffled around and Gadang Rakkamma came as the second update, which, looking back, was a good call. The song, and more importantly, its hook step, has gone viral, with the who’s who doing his/her version and putting it on social media. Sudeep’s first-ever reel was to the Ra Ra Rakkamma hook step.
The song, composed by Ajaneesh B Loknath, has been well received in all five versions, particularly in Kannada and Hindi and now we hear it’s time for the next update. Earlier today, Sudeep had tweeted a note of gratitude to everyone who loved the Gadang Rakkamma Song and that the ‘next excitement’ would be soon. While he didn’t specify what that would be, Sudeep let fans wonder what it could be with a fill-in-the-blanks challenge. Of course, fans wasted no time and figured that the number of words and alphabets in the blanks could only be for Hey Fakira. Some even speculated that the song would be released on June 9. All this social media activity was enough for #KicchaSudeep and #VikrantRona to trend for a good part of the day.
Vikrant Rona, meanwhile, is all set to release world wide in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English on July 28 in 3D. Produced by Shalini and Manjunath Gowda of Shalini Artss and co-produced by Alankar Pandian of Invenio Origin, the Anup Bhandari directorial film also stars Nirup Bhandari and Neetha Ashok, among others.
