Bollywood director Vivek Agnihotri is riding high on the success of his latest offering The Kashmir Files. The film that stars veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar and Pallavi Joshi, has emerged as an unprecedented success at the box office.

Without major promotional activities and with no big name in its star cast, the film has managed to impress the audiences. Now, several reports have started doing the rounds which suggest that Vivek Agnihotri was in talks with Kangana Ranaut for a film and has apparently signed her for the same.

Now, Vivek has finally spoken about the rumours and quashed them saying that his films need actors and not stars. The director was quoted as saying by BollywoodHungama, "My films don’t need stars. They need actors. When I started my journey 12 years ago I decided I will make my kind of films and I will never make a star-driven film." Vivek also added that he firmly believes that cinema is the medium of writers and directors.

The helmer of The Tashkent Files also told the portal that his next film to hit the theatres would be The Delhi Files, which has already been completed. Vivek further shared that he hasn't even started to think about what he'd like to work on after the release of The Delhi Files.

Meanwhile, The Kashmir Files has been working pretty well at the box office. The movie is inching closer to the Rs 250 crore mark at the ticket windows, after three weeks of its release. The movie is facing tough competition from SS Rajamouli's directorial RRR which was released in theatres across the country last Friday.
