War 2 – Jr NTR’s role in the film revealed; know more about Aditya Chopra’s plans for YRF Spy Universe

We know that War was a superhit film of 2019, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles. This Siddharth Anand directorial minted over Rs 50 crore on Day 1 of its release and soon ended up becoming one of the highest grossers that year. Keeping the memories of the project alive, a sequel to War, tentatively titled War 2, is in the making. While the lead actors of the film have been retained, Telugu actor NT Rama Rao Jr has been cast as the antagonist in War 2. So what is Jr NTR’s role in War 2? The details are below:

Jr NTR to play an Indian agent in War 2

According to a report published in Pinkvilla this evening, NTR's character is pretty different from that seen in the previous spy films of the franchise. He will be essaying the role of an Indian agent. Additionally, the report suggested that War 2 will be helmed by Ayan Mukerji, not Siddharth Anand. “Both Aditya and Ayan are excited to explore a unique dynamic between Hrithik and NTR through War 2,” the report said.

Insiders involved with producing War 2 revealed to the news portal that the filmmakers aim to deliver a captivating experience for viewers. The characters will be multifaceted and unpredictable, promising an engaging cinematic journey filled with surprises.

In April 2023, the long-awaited sequel, War 2, was announced. Hrithik Roshan will reprise his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, while NT Rama Rao Jr will make his Hindi film debut as the villain. Kiara Advani has also been signed on for an important role. Ayan Mukerji will direct the sequel, replacing Siddharth Anand, who is currently directing Tiger Vs Pathaan. Notably, Hrithik Roshan also appeared as Kabir in Tiger 3. War 2 will be released on August 14, 2025, continuing the story from Tiger 3.
