War 2 Strategy: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR to stay apart pre-release, like Hrithik and Tiger Shroff in War

Yash Raj Films is handling the marketing campaign for the much-anticipated action extravaganza War 2 with great strategy and calculation. For the film's pre-release marketing campaign, the studio has chosen to keep lead stars Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr apart, following a strategy it used in the YRF Spy Universe.

Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR avoid joint promotions

This is the first time the two actors have shared a screen, and rumours say that the studio is aiming to keep the intensity of their rivalry alive for moviegoers. A senior trade source confirmed that Hrithik and NTR will be promoting War 2 separately and all plans have been made keeping in mind that they would never share the stage together, never be seen in any promotional video together pre-release, and never be seen with each other. They also added that the combination of Hrithik and NTR is an unprecedented event in Indian cinema, and audiences may expect gory mayhem as a result. YRF clearly intends for viewers to sense this competition before seeing the two promote their film together in a friendly manner. They want audiences to have the finest possible movie-watching experience by holding on to the film's distinctive tension.

This strategy follows YRF's prior handling of Spy Universe games. According to the source, to construct its films and the entertainment promise, the YRF Spy Universe has always used highly intriguing tactics. They were the first to implement a no-interview-before-release policy for spyverse films. The rule ensures that the actors would not reveal any plot elements during these interviews.

Only during the post-release celebration of War (2019) did Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff appear together. A similar story unfolded with Pathaan; instead of holding public events, YRF posted carefully selected videos featuring Shah Rukh Khan on social media and the film went on to become a legendary box office smash. Tiger Zinda Hai also used a surprise element by involving other agents from the Spy Universe in the promotional campaign.

War 2 is set to premiere in IMAX theatres around the world on August 14, 2025, under the direction of Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra. Kiara Advani's "most lethal avatar to date" joins the ensemble. Fans are thrilled for the film, which is expected to be one of 2025's most awaited releases.
