In director Simple Suni’s Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, which recently completed a successful 25-day, the central character Athishay (Vinay Rajkumar) is on the lookout for a girl whose voice matches the rhythm in his heart. When he then hears that voice and races towards it, he meets Madhura (Mallika Singh) an aspiring singer and assumes she’s the one that’s just stolen his heart.

As a budding romance unfolds, Athishay, a music director’s assistant and aspiring composer himself, gives Madhura an opportunity to sing playback, which kickstarts a very successful career for her. Ella Maatannu is that song and the full video of this Veer Samarth composition is now out. The song, sung by the music director and Shivani Swami, has lyrics by Jayanth Kaikini.

The song release could be a prelude to the impending OTT release, as director Suni had revealed that platforms had shown interest in acquiring the rights once the film made it to a third week in theatres. Suni added that while Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe is still running in select centres, he will not keep it in theatres unduly to celebrate other milestones, so an OTT or TV outing could be imminent.

Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, was Vinay Rajkumar’s first major release in a while, a film that he was proud to be associated with for multiple reasons, main among them being collaborating with Suni and trying his hand at comedy. Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe also stars Swathishta Krishnan, whose role as Anuraga won her widespread praise.

Vinay, who has been dabbling with cinema across genres, will next be seen in the more gritty Pepe, while Suni is preparing for the release of the much delayed sequel to Avatara Purusha 1. The second instalment of the horror comedy about dark magic, starring Sharan in the lead, is slated to be in theatres on March 22.
