Operation Alamelamma and Kavaludaari fame Rishi is waiting for the release of his next film, Ramana Avatara, which the team is hoping to bring to theatres sometime in June or July, latest. In the run up to that, they have just released the first single, Rama is a Gentleman, a part-lyrical video with quite a few glimpses from the actual song, wherein Rishi is trying to serenade his girl, Shubra Aiyappa.

Directed by Vikas and Vinay Pampathi, the comedy caper also stars Pranitha Subhash, Raj B Shetty, Arun Sagar, Danish Sait, Anirudh Acharya, among others. Ramana Avatara is about Rishi’s character Ramakrishna, a naughty yet fun-loving youngsters and what he does when his relationship ends in a break up. “Rama decides to be a leader, a good one at that, and the narrative follows his journey,” Rishi had said about the film. One of the aspects that Ramana Avatar explores along the way is the migration of talent from villages and smaller towns to bigger cities, which makes Rama decide to stay back and not be a part of this flock. “If you look at Bengaluru, for instance, a vast majority of its populace is not originally from here. We’ve all come here for better job prospects. Perhaps, if we had such opportunities back home, we would not have come here. This is the thought we have brought into Ramana Avatara and that resonated with me,” the actor explained.

The film is in the final stages of post-production with only Judah’s magic left with the background score and re-recording of some portions. “We want to release the film by the end of June or early July. Of course, this will depend on the schedule of other films as well, but by early June we should have a clear idea about when Ramana Avatara will be in theatres,” he said.
