Late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor's swan song titled Sharmaji Namkeen is all set have an OTT release on March 31, 2022. Son Ranbir Kapoor has been neck deep in the promotions of the film that also stars Juhi Chawla and Paresh Rawal (who stepped in to complete the film after Rishi Kapoor's demise on April 30, 2020).

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Ranbir Kapoor became nostalgic and spoke about the time when his father was making a transition from being the leading star through the 70s and 90s to being a character actor post 90s. Ranbir mentioned how it is important to work and keep onself occupied and recollected how the entire family was driven mad when Rishi Kapoor was just at home at all times.

Ranbir told FC that when Rishi was making the transition from a lead actor to a character actor for three to four years, he used to just sit in front of the computer and play Bridge. He shared that his mother Neetu Kapoor got frustrated as she had never seen him being at home for such a long period of time. "And he used to drive her mad. My mother used to force him to go to RK Studios and just sit there," he said in the interaction.

Ranbir further elaborated that for a brief period of time, Rishi then turned into an interior designer and started changing different spaces in their house. In an attempt to keep himself busy, he started shopping for things but he ended up realising that working was in his spirit and that what he really wanted to do was to work.

Ranbir told the portal, ""My mother, myself, and my sister, we were also being driven a little mad because he is also very demanding of your attention." He added that they were hoping that while it was great that they were getting to spend so much time with him but it'd been nicer had it been more balanced as it was getting too much for them to handle.

Meanwhile, Sharmaji Namkeen also stars Juhi Chawla and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from March 31.
