Former West End musical star and wife of comedian Ronnie Corbett, Annie Hart passed away early sunday morning, at the age of 90. Her death was peaceful and surrounded by her loved ones, in Scotland.

Anne Hart, widow of the adored comic Ronnie Corbett, passed away a nonagenarian on November 6, back at her family home in Scotland. Her family shared the unfortunate news of her demise, the only consolation being that the actress died “peacefully” and “surrounded by family”.

She had recently been treated for a hip fracture at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, after she suffered a fall at their Muirfield Wood estate in East Lothian. Her younger daughter, Sophie Corbett has said, “We lost my darling Mum at one o’clock in the morning. She was an amazing woman, and my sister Emma and I, and all four of her grandchildren, Tom, Tilly, Dylan, and Billy, will love and miss her forever.”

She concluded, “We will be bringing her home to Abingdon, near Croydon, which is where the family lived when Dad was alive.” The veteran singer cum actress had been married to Ronnie Corbett for fifty odd years, till his demise in 2016, due to form of motor neurone disease.

They had met when she was working the late-night revues at Danny La Rue’s club, and Corbett had been an aspiring comedian who was just beginning to get his share of fame. They got hitched in 1966, and had two daughters, Emma and Sophie. Their first-born, Andrew, had passed away six weeks after birth due to a heart defect.

Anne Hart debuted as a child in the Christmas show, Where The Rainbow Ends. After performing in several child roles at the Covent Garden operas, she found fame in her 20s as the heroine of Clown Jewels ad Young in Heart. She had been a part of the comedy group The Crazy Gang during those performances.
