OMG 2, featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, left many surprised with one scene. The particular scene is where Akshay starts singing Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava. The interesting aspect is that the song is from Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel’s Gadar and was reprised for Gadar 2. OMG 2 and Gadar 2 also happened to release in theatres at the same time. Both the movies are receiving equal love too. Now, OMG 2 director Amit Rai has spilled the beans on how Akshay reacted when her heard that Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava, from Gadar 2, is a part of OMG 2.

What did Akshay Kumar say?

During his interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amit shared how Akshay was rather open to including the song in their movie. He did not think about the clash and rather said that he’s open to including any song from any movie which would help their film. “We are not fighting anyone. We are OMG 2 plus Gadar or whichever film releases with us. The industry should learn to survive and prosper together,” Amit recalled Akshay as saying.

Was it a co-incidence?

Amit further revealed that adding Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava, while Gadar 2 was releasing with OMG 2, was purely co-incidental. The song, the reprised version, released a month before the film’s release. Back then, he liked the track and thought it would be good to include it in OMG 2. Thus, the particular scene was recorded only a month before its release. He did not think there would be Gadar 2 vs OMG 2 at the Box Office in the first place. The director further said that he was skeptical about how the viewers would take the particular scene and the iconic song in the Akshay-starrer film.

Why the particular song?

Again, a co-incidence. The makers were looking at numerous old songs, since Akshay’s character could not sing a relatively newer track. Amit cited the example of Yo Yo Honey Singh ‘Aaj Blue Hai Paani’ and said that the song had to be sober, since Lord Shiva was singing it. The other factor was aspiring love and brotherhood through a track which Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava did.
