When Bigg Boss 16 contestant Shalin Bhanot almost died on cruise to Oman

Shalin Bhanot was recently heard talking about his near-death experience on Salman Khan’s show, Bigg Boss 16. The actor recalled the time when he almost died. This was when the TV actor was travelling on a cruise and was on his way to Oman.

A few years back, Shalin was travelling to the Gulf. He remembered the incident upon seeing Abdu Rozik, who is from Tajikistan.

Shalin told Abdu about his near-death experience. While the little one took his time to understand the story because of his weak Hindi, Abdu did eventually get what Shalin was trying to convey.

The TV actor was on a vacation and went partying with 50 other people on a cruise. This vehicle stopped in the middle of the sea. A confused Shalin did not understand why till he saw what was happening.

Many of those party people dived into the wide sea. Seeing their enthusiasm, Shalin went for the adventure too.

However, this TV actor was completely unaware that it would become a memory down the lane. Even though he knew swimming, Shalin was not able to control the waves. After a while, he felt himself drowning and actually did. He was gasping for breath and did not see any way out.

Just then, by luck, a rescue boat arrived and saved him from the dire situation. Thankfully, Shalin managed to stay afloat despite the heavy pull of the water and thus, he was rescued on time.

Shalin is a contestant who often makes headlines for his involvement with three people in the house. He has always been friends with Sumbul Touqeer Khan but their friendship was taken out of context and now, they support one another but only to an extent. The actor has also admitted that he feels butterflies for his TV colleague Tina Datta. Shalin and Tina are seen bonding unlike anything in the house. The third equation is between Shalin and Gautam Singh Vig. Although Shalin and Gautam were like brothers, they have often faced major disruptions in their friendship.

Shalin was also constantly in news because of his excessive demand for chicken in the house. Salman called out the actor and said that it has become irritating. Shalin has promised to stop demanding chicken and he has kept his promise so far. Can he do it for a long time though, remains to be seen.
