When Rekha quoted Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC intro, but on the wrong show!

The way Rekha exudes charm and charisma both onscreen and offscreen has rightfully made her a fan favourite. The actress had made sporadic appearances on the silver screen for the past decade, even appearing as a judge on reality shows such as Super Dancer. During her guest appearance on the reality show, Rekha seemed to have a goof up, when she accidentally quoted the tagline of another popular reality show.

Rekha had appeared as a guest judge on an episode of Super Dancer in 2017. The show’s host had teased Rekha saying that she knew the show so well that she would soon start to list out its sponsors as well. The veteran actress’ attempts to try and prove she knew the show well hilariously backfired. The actress quoted Amitabh Bachchan’s popular line from Kaun Banega Crorepati, which went ‘aadar aadab abhinandan aabhar’. Rekha realised her goof up almost immediately as she said it, saying ‘Yeh woh show nahi hai?’, then adding that at least they were both on the same channel.

Her hilarious goof up had resulted in an uproar of laughter from the show’s judges, Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu, and Geeta Kapoor, as well as the show’s hosts Rithvik Dhanjani and Paritosh Tripathi.

What followed was the veteran actress getting flustered, as she requested that the part of her goof up be edited out. But Paritosh quipped that rather than editing it out, it would form a part of the show’s promo instead.

Rekha’s slip up had delighted fans as well. Some of the fans’ comments under the post read “she always do this .. deliberately”, “she is savage”, “Such lively human being she is”, “That's why she is mine fav”, among others.

Meanwhile, Kaun Banega Crorepati is currently in its 14th season, with Amitabh Bachchan returning as its host. The last season of Super Dancer had aired in 2021. All episodes of Kaun Banega Crorepati and Super Dancer are available for streaming on SonyLIV.
