Malayalam star Nivin Pauly is making a comeback in Tamil cinema with Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai after a gap of six years. On Tuesday, he shared the teaser for the upcoming movie, which is helmed by award-winning filmmaker Ram.

The teaser promises to give a glimpse of an immortal love and it is not lying. The teaser opens with Nivin's mysterious character giving the simple definition of love: "People might have 1000 reasons to separate but to walk side-by-side there can be only one reason — love."

Ram is typically known for his deeply rooted films exploring the ills of civilisation — ignoring the weak, discarding the helpless and isolating the brave. But, with Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, he seems to have pushed the limits of his storytelling, with an enigmatic setting, bordering on surrealism.

In the teaser, Nivin is presented as an immortal being. He claims he is over 8000 years old., but doesn't look older than 40. Throughout the ages, he seems to be pursuing a woman for one singular reason — love. He professes to have fallen in love with her at first sight, claiming that during their initial encounter, she was a queen. This implies that over the years, she has taken on different lives, but his unwavering love for her has remained unchanged.

The teaser also promises that Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai will be a visually compelling film, filled with dream-like situations. It seems to have all the qualities to become a very memorable addition to Nivin's filmography.

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai also stars Anjali and Soori in the lead roles. The filmmakers have not announced the release date for it yet.
