Zwigato Box Office Collection Day 1: Kapil Sharma’s film opens to 'poor' numbers

The movie starring Kapil Sharma released to rousing acclaim on March 17. The slice-of-life drama that highlights a world where survival is dependent not on the laborious job of the food delivery workers but rather on the frivolous behaviour of the clients was praised by viewers and critics alike. Shahana Goswami also appears in the movie; she plays Kapil's wife. 

This is the comedian-actor's third acting venture following Firangi and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. The movie, however, failed to engage the crowd. Early estimates indicate that Nandita Das's directing effort had a poor first day and barely made any money.

According to trade reports, Nandita Das' directed film only made 0.40 crores on Day 1. The movie is anticipated to gain audiences over the course of the weekend thanks to good word of mouth.

Set in Bhubaneshwar, the plot centres around Manas played by Kapil Sharma, and his wife Pratima (Shahana Goswami) and how they maintain their physical and mental health together to pull through the financial crisis. The movie is Nandita Das' insightful portrayal of the gig economy, depicting the plight of the immigrant couple in the post-Covid era.

A former factory floor manager loses his job due to the pandemic in the slice-of-life movie. Later on, he manages to land a job as a food delivery rider, where he has deal with the world of ratings and incentives. Kapil appears to be a fully committed family man. Spending time with his wife, Shahana, presents challenges for him. Then, in order to provide for their family, his wife begins working. He claims that the company wants him to pursue incentives and act morally upright.
