Dream Horse is predictable right from the first scene and thus, there is nothing about this venture that can leave you by surprise.

Story:

Losing hopes from her monotonous job, Jan (Toni Collette) insists on buying a horse for racing. While her dreams shatter a little, she finds a new hope and names her new horse Dream Alliance, thus 'Dream Horse'. The whole story revolves around her, Dream and all the investors of the horse.

Review:

Dream Horse is not a movie that you have not seen before. It is a typical sports-meets-daily lives story. It is the story about people giving up on their boring and monotonous life behind pursuing a sport. It brings out nothing new and fascinating, which makes the movie a boring watch.

The film begins by talking about a woman bored by routine and a clueless husband. It is quite the moment when the horse is introduced to the plot.

Toni Collette as Jan is quite the powerful character. She is determined to do something in life and that is quite evident through her evolving character.

The story takes a twist but stays on plot. Karl Johnson as Kerby is hilarious. He is full-of-life which brings a smile on your faces.

While the horse racing journey should've ideally been intriguing, it doesn't create an impact. With that, the plot loses track. It becomes about people more than the horse.

They create some moments when together but individually, they make you yawn. The stories are so done-and-dusted that you cannot find anything new even if you try to dig deep.

The drama continues and barely manages to keep you gripped. The movie moves at an expected pace and in an expected dramatic way so there is nothing really that can surprise you.

Soon, the film takes a depressing turn which appears to be never-ending. Even beautiful locations cannot wipe the frown off your face. Owing to that, even a high moment isn't appealing enough.

Verdict:

Dream Horse offers nothing new. There isn't a moment you would not expect. There isn't a second that intrigues you. Thus, it is better to stay away from this film.
