The nominees for the 60th Baeksang Awards were unveiled on April 8 and the nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress categories went on to spark a wave of reactions from netizens. The reason being the notable omission was 'Queen Of Tears' star Kim Ji Won, who failed to secure a nomination for Best Actress, much to the disappointment of her fans. 

This outrage was ever more by the fact that her co-star and leading actor, Kim Soo Hyun, received a nomination.

Competing for the Best Actress title are Ra Mi Ran ('The Good Bad Mother'), Ahn Eun Jin ('My Dearest'), Uhm Jung Hwa ('Doctor Cha'), Honey Lee ('Knight Flower'), and Lim Ji Yeon ('Lies Hidden In My Garden').

In the Best Actor category, nominees include Kim Soo Hyun ('Queen Of Tears'), Nam Goong Min ('My Dearest'), Ryu Seung Ryong ('Moving'), Yoo Yeon Seok ('A Bloody Lucky Day'), and Im Siwan ('Boyhood').

The news of Kim Ji Won's snub garnered criticism from fans, who questioned the decision-making process of the awards show. Many expressed the view that Kim Ji Won's performance was deserving of recognition, particularly considering the K-Drama's recent achievement of surpassing the elusive 20% viewership rating mark.

Queen Of Tears:

The tvN romantic comedy series which is available on Netflix, has experienced a surge in popularity with anticipation among viewers steadily mounting. 

Following the airing of its latest episode on Sunday, April 7, the show achieved its highest ratings to date, even going on to surpass several other top-ranking programs, including the beloved 'Reply 1988'. It currently falls behind megahits like 'Crash Landing on You' and 'Goblin', both of which have exceeded the 20 per cent viewership mark.

In addition to the intricacies of its central relationship, the recent episode delighted fans with a cameo appearance by Song Joong Ki’s 'Vincenzo' character. As the series enters its second half, fans eagerly await how the storyline will unfold.
