As we get closer to the commencement of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) from 28th March, the teams have started to finalise their tactic and probable XIs to hunt for glory. Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who have started their pre-season camp or practice sessions from 18th March, will now raise the heat by playing an intra-squad match on Friday to give their players match simulation practice a week before the season begins.
But before they even take on each other in that indoor sport match, special care will be given to the strength and conditioning of each player and also the support staff. KKR, under the watchful eyes of the medical team, the focus will be on injury prevention and peak physical readiness, especially for the multi-format stars who have recently returned from international duties, before they go through the rigorous one and a half months of high-intensity T20 cricket.
With an intra-squad practice match, set to be played under the floodlights from 6 pm to mimic real match conditions, this duel will be the ultimate audition for several players.
During that intra-squad match, all the eyes will be on how the KKR top order handles the mystery spin variations in a competitive setting. Along with that, the match will also give a chance for the designated "finishers" to test the boundaries of the Eden Gardens.
Moreover, the coaches and think tank will also look for accuracy checks of the pace battery against their own world-class power-hitters.
KKR fans around the globe can watch the game live via Kolkata Knight Riders' social media handles.
