Indian batting powerhouse Shreyas Iyer, who was not included in the Asia Cup 2025 squad, has been named the India-A captain for the upcoming two-match multiday series against Australia A, starting from 16 September 2025 in Lucknow. KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will also be included in the squad for the second match of the series.

N Jagadeesan, who was called as the replacement for Rishabh Pant during the fifth and final test of the England vs India test series, has been named as the second choice wicket-keeper alongside Dhruv Jurel. Ishan Kishan, who was ruled out of the Duleep Trophy, was not included in the squad.

Devdutt Padikkal, who has shown great form in the recently concluded Maharaja Trophy, has been named in the squad alongside Ayush Badoni. Badoni scored an unbeaten double hundred in the Duleep Trophy against East Zone, and found a place in the squad as well.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Tanush Kotian, who scored a vital 76 batting down the order, have been named as the main all-rounders of the squad. Harsh Dubey will be the main spinner of the team, while Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Khaleel Ahmed, Manav Suthar, and Yash Thakur are the other bowlers named in the squad.

KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will be added to the squad for the 2nd multi-day match and will replace two players in the squad after the 1st multi-day match.

The multi-day matches will be followed by three one-day games, scheduled to take place on September 30, 2025, October 03, 2025, and October 05, 2025, respectively, in Kanpur.
