The lone Indian surviving in the Swiss Open 2024 and desperately seeking to earn a spot for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024 is Kidambi Srikanth. He is all set to take on Chinese Taipei's Lin Chun-yi in the men's singles semi-final on Saturday (March 23) at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. 

The Swiss Open 2024 semi-final will be available for free live streaming on the JioCinema app in India from 12:50 AM IST. For fans watching on TV, it will be broadcasted on Sports 18-1 channel. Additionally, fans can also live stream the matches via the BWF TV YouTube Channel.

Kidambi Srikanth vs Lin Chun-yi Swiss Open 2024 semi-final match:

Former world number 1, Srikanth is playing his eighth tournament of the season and has finally gained momentum by reaching the semi-finals for the first time in 16 months. He secured a commanding 21-10, 21-14 victory over Chia Hao Lee of Chinese Taipei in just 35 minutes on Friday night to advance to his first semi-final on the BWF World Tour since November 2022.

On the other hand, his opponent Lin also cruised to a straight games victory over Denmark's Magnus Johannesen with a scoreline of 21-18, 21-7 in 38 minutes, securing his spot in the semi-finals. 

Head-to-head: This will mark the first meeting between the two players - Kidambi Srikanth and Lin Chun-yi.

Other Indians at Swiss Open 2024:

Kiran George's efforts went in vain as his valiant fight concluded with a 23-21, 17-21, 15-21 loss to Denmark's Rasmus Gemke in a quarterfinal match.

The other emerging Indian talent, Priyanshu Rajawat, also lost to Chou Tien Chen, succumbing to a 15-21, 19-21 defeat in a 43-minute quarterfinal clash.

India's women's doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also faced a straight-game defeat to Australia's Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu on Friday. They went down 14-21, 15-21 in 35 minutes to the unseeded Australian duo.
