An over billion-dollar box office run and multiple glowing reviews later, the film is now in the award-winning haul.
In what turned out to be the biggest Box Office battle of 2023, Oppenheimer clashed with Barbie. The most ambitious Christopher Nolan project, starring Cillian Murphy in the lead, is based on the life of Robert J Oppenheimer. The film follows the building of the first atomic bomb and traces the politics of the time. The film has reigned at the Golden Globes and is estimated to rule all the award galas.
Emma Stone returned to the screen to give us one of the most nuanced performances of the year in Poor Things. Dr. Godwin Baxter brings back Bella Baxter, a young woman to life, and she runs off with a lawyer. The journey to liberation and asking for equality is so moving that the movie speaks to the audience beyond what was on the screen.
After a teacher is told to stay back at school to supervise a student who has nowhere to go during the holidays, the bond they form is precious. The movie was loved by the majority of the audience that saw it. It is not available on streaming for the Indian audience as of yet.
