The young director discussed the valuable lessons he gained from the filmmakers he has worked with, including his uncle Mohanlal and Geethu Mohandas, in an interview with OTTplay.

The upcoming Malayalam sports action drama Chatha Pacha marks the directorial debut of Adhvaith Nayar. Speaking about this, he said the was determined to learn the craft from directors with various styles in his initial days in this industry. The young director discussed the valuable lessons he gained from the filmmakers he has worked with, including his uncle Mohanlal, in an interview with OTTplay.

'Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's clarity'

Adhvaith stressed that every director he has collaborated with has contributed to him in one way or another. "I collaborated with Mohanlal sir on the movie in which he directed and acted, and it was a great chance to see him work with such clarity. He approaches problem-solving in a kind of amiable manner, which helps him achieve perfection in his work," he added.

Adhvaith said, "It is a true delight to see how the Drishyam director handles his team," when discussing the most important lesson he picked up from Jeethu Joseph. "Despite little changes, everyone on his set is aware of what is going on at all times. Regardless of the situation, he calls his staff and explains the modifications, including any alterations to the shots or other details. He understands what is and is not necessary in terms of simplicity," he continued.

'Rajeev Ravi and Geethu Mohandas' way of handling things'

As a filmmaker, Rajeev Ravi is aware of how to make good compromises on his sets, according to Adhvaith. "I've witnessed filmmakers being picky about props, settings, and other things. When someone tells Rajeev Sir that something is wrong or that something can't be done, his first response is, "No problem, what's next," he said.

Speaking about Geethu Mohandas, the young filmmaker said that during the pre and post production of Moothon, he had numerous one-on-one discussions with her that helped him comprehend many facets of filmmaking. "She is too adept at overcoming obstacles and doing so without passing judgement. Adhvaith went on, "Geethu is also very receptive to other people's opinions on set."

Prior to making films, he had worked in the advertising sector with professionals like Prakash Varma. He stated, "Every frame matters and their attention to detail is impeccable, which actually gave me inspiration when it came to making a movie."
