A still from the film

It was announced earlier that Mohanlal-starrer 12th Man will have a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar. Though an official update on the release of the film directed by Jeethu Joseph is awaited, it is expected the movie will drop on the OTT platform in the second week of May. The makers have now unveiled its teaser; the one-and-a-half minute video offers a sneak peek into the movie's genre.

It begins with a group of people who hail from various walks of life coming together for a big celebration in an apartment. But a few unanticipated incidents which happen during the party turn their lives topsy-turvy. The presence of a mysterious man in the apartment makes things even more curious.

Going by the teaser, the story revolves around the three lives of every prominent character in the film; the public life, the private life and the secret life. The intriguing teaser, which is complemented by terrific background score, ends with Mohanlal uttering the lines, 'It's time to blow the final whistle'.

Antony Perumbavoor has bankrolled the film under Ashirvad Cinemas which has a bevy of actors like Unni Mukundan, Saiju Kurup, Shivada, Anu Sithara, Anusree, Priyanka Nair, Anu Mohan and Rahul Madhav among others essaying crucial roles in it.

KR Krishnakumar has written the screenplay for 12th Man which has cinematography by Satheesh Kurup. Anil Johnson and Vinayak have handled music direction and editing respectively for the movie. The post production of the film was completed a month ago.

The project marks the fourth collaboration between Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph. Ram, which marked the duo's third outing, is yet to be completed, while their previous project, Drishyam 2, had a direct release on Amazon Prime Video a year ago.
