Ikkis and Champion are among the movies releasing in theatres on Christmas 2025

Curtains are set to close on 2025, but a bunch of movies have been lined up for Christmas release, ensuring that we end the year on a high. From the Hindi war drama Ikkis to the pan-India film of Vrusshabha led by Mohanlal, the Telugu sports drama Champion and Tamil crime drama Sirai, films from across Indian languages and genres are set to release in theatres on December 25, 2025. Ikkis

Young Hindi actor Agastya Nanda leads this Hindi war drama from the front. He plays the 1971 war hero Arun Khetarpal in the biopic, helmed by Sriram Raghavan. Another highlight yet touching factor about the film is that it marks the last movie of veteran Dharmendra, who passed away recently. Fans are likely to queue up for the film to watch the He-Man of Bollywood for one last time on the big screen

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri

Christmas cannot all be about conflicts, as actors Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday bring back the charm of Bollywood rom-coms with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The film revolves around Ray Mehra and Rumi, a young couple navigating the challenges of relationships in today’s times. Karan Johar, who is literally on cloud 9 after his film Homebound was shortlisted for the Oscars, backed the upcoming movie as well.

Vrusshabha

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal leads Vrusshabha, which is directed by Kannada filmmaker Nanda Kishore. The film, which comes with the tag of a pan-Indian movie, was initially set to release in October and then in November, but was postponed both times before finally fixing Christmas release. A tale of reincarnation, the film revolves around a father and son, and how they are linked from their past lives. While Mohanlal plays the father, Kannada actor Samarjit Lankesh will be seen as the son.

Sarvam Maya

Actor Nivin Pauly is in charge of director Akhil Sathyan’s film, which is said to be a horror comedy. The film follows Prabhendu as he returns to his ancestral home in a rustic Kerala village. Things take a spooky turn after he conducts a traditional ritual as a he begins to feel the presence of a supernatural entity around him. Actor Aju Varghese once again joins his frequent collaborator Nivin in this Malayalam film, which promises to be a fun entertainer this festival season.

Mindiyum Paranjum

Malayalam actors Unni Mukundan and Aparna Balamurali play the lead roles of a couple in the film, helmed by Arun Bose. This film has been in the making for a long time and has faced many delays. Finally, Mindiyum Paranjum is releasing this Christmas. The makers recently released the teaser, and it looks like a heartwarming tale is on the cards.

Sirai

This Tamil crime drama stars Vikram Prabhu in the lead role of a constable. Based on a real-life incident, the gripping film revolves around the cop as he is given the task of escorting an accused in a case. Suresh Rajakumari has helmed this film, which features LK Akshay Kumar in the other lead role along with Ananda Thambirajah. Malayalam actress Anishma Anilkumar, best known for Basil Joseph-starrer Maranamass, is also part of Sirai.

Retta Thala

With elements of romance, action, and drama, Retta Thala promises to be a wholesome entertainer this festive holiday. Actor Arun Vijay leads the Tamil film, with the trailer already hinting that he could be seen in dual roles. It could be Arun Vijay vs Arun Vijay in the action-packed film, which is touted to be a revenge tale. Kris Thirukumaran has helmed this film.

Dhandoraa

This Telugu film is touted to be a satire, which takes a close look at the rituals and social customs in a rural setting. Dhandoraa will touch upon people from all walks of life that cohabit in a village, from the powerful sarpanch to a young couple and a prostitute. Actors Sivaji, Navdeep and Bindu Madhavi lead the film, which is helmed by Muralikanth.

Shambhala

Shambhala is another Telugu film, which has a rural setting but weaves in a supernatural twist. A meteor crash sparks off the events of the film. It is the clash of science vs shastras as Vikram seeks to find answers to mysteries even as the elderly villagers warn him of dire consequences. Aadi Saikumar leads Shambhala: A Mystical World along with Archana Iyer, Swasika, and Ravi Varma in the cast

Champion

Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan makes her Telugu debut with Champion, starring actor Roshan Meka. Debutant Pradeep Advaitham helms this Telugu film, which is set during the British Raj. The peppy song Gira Gira Gingiraagirey, which features some cool moves, is already winning the internet. The film is billed as a sports drama with the hero shown as an ardent football player.-
