Aadu 3: Jayasurya promises more chaos and comedy in final film, reiterates March 19 release in new poster

On a day that saw Kannada star Yash’s upcoming movie releasing yet another sensational teaser, Malayalam movie Aadu 3 also made its presence felt. The makers of the Jayasurya-starrer dropped a poster, which confirmed that the film is set to release on March 19, 2026, along with Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic. The poster also confirmed that this would be the final instalment of the popular comedy franchise, helmed by Midhun Manuel Thomas

When is Aadu 3 releasing

Aadu 3 actor and producer Vijay Babu dropped a poster on February 20, featuring the lead cast members of the upcoming Malayalam film. The poster screamed chaos as almost all of the characters were in either fight or flight mode. Vijay Babu dropped the poster along with the caption: ‘The idiots are coming; One last ride ….. Aadu -3 , In Theatres Worldwide from 19th March 2026!’

The date is significant as March 19 will see the release of two of the most-anticipated films - Hindi movie Dhurandhar 2 and Kannada movie Toxic. While Dhurandhar 2 is once again led by Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, Toxic stars Yash and is helmed by Geetu Mohandas. Several big-budget films from other industries, such as Telugu star Ram Charan’s Peddi, have avoided a March release.

There are concerns about whether Dhurandhar 2 will be able to keep its date, but Toxic has shown no sign of deviating from the March 19 release. Aadu 3 is not in the league of these two Pan-Indian films, but clashing with them at the Kerala box office could have some impact on the Jayasurya-starrer.

What’s Aadu 3 about

Aadu 3 will continue with the misadventures of Shaji Pappan and his bunch of friends. The first set of posters had cast apprehensions about whether Aadu 3 would have a different storyline. However, Vijay Babu had clarified that the third part will continue from where the second installment ended, though it would also include other timelines.

Jayasurya will be back as Shaji Pappan, while Vinayakan too returns as the eccentric gangster Dude. Vijay Babu’s SI Sarbath Shameer, Saiju Kurup’s Arakkal Abu, and Sunny Wayne’s Saathaan Xavier are other popular characters from the Aadu franchise.
