Actors Kathir and Divya Bharathi will be coming together for an upcoming Tamil film titled Aasai. The makers on Saturday unveiled the film’s first look poster along with the release date. Aasai is all set to hit theatres on March 6.

Aasai release date: When is Kathir and Divya Bharathi’s film out?

Actor Kathir who was last seen in his Malayalam debut film Meesha has been missing in action in Tamil cinema for a while. Though he appeared in web series Suzhal season 2 last year, the actor had no theatrical releases since the 2023 film Thalaikootal. Now, the actor is all set to star alongside Divya Bharathi for a Tamil film in his next. Titled Aasai, the film’s release date has been announced by the makers. It is slated for release on March 6.

Billed to be a romantic thriller, the first look poster shows a side profile of Divya while she puts an arm around Kathir who is looking straight into the camera. His spectacle is cracked. This is the first time the actors are pairing up. Aasai is directed by Shiv Mohaa, with the technical crew consisting of cinematographer Babu Kumar IE, and editor Sudharsan. Revaa has scored the music. Further details on the film are expected to come out towards the near of release.

Interestingly, after Aasai, Divya Bharathi, last seen in Kingston, will be doing one more project with Kathir. Titled, Lingam, co-starring Poornima Ravi, it is helmed by Lakshmi Saravanakumar. Lingam will explore kabaddi sport and entwine with a gangster drama.

Lingam is speculated to be based on true incidents that took place in Kanyakumari where a notorious gangster was arrested and detained in Nagercoil. However, a gang broke into his prison and brutally murdered him. Touted to be a series Lingam will stream on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium and is part of the streaming platform’s upcoming south content slate. A release date is yet to be announced.
