Aashaan is preparing for a major release in February with the backing from Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films. The film's producers revealed a new poster and stated that it will be released on the big screen on February 5. Bhavana's thriller Anomie and Jayaram's family entertainer Ashakal Ayiram will open in theatres the next day, despite the fact that no other Malayalam films are scheduled for release on the same day. How will Aashaan fare in theatres among the other films remains to be seen.

Johnpaul is well-known for directing Malayalam films, Ambili and Guppy. The film reportedly tells a humorous story based on the film industry. Additionally, the creators have disclosed that this project would mark the debut of almost 100 newcomers.
