Actor and comedian Sathish’s new film has been kickstarted with an inaugural pooja, on Monday. The film is directed by Guru Saravanan, and co-stars Aadhi Sai Kumar in his Tamil debut.

Sathish’s new film launched:

Filmmaker Guru Saravanan, who earlier assisted KS Ravikumar, made his directorial debut with Koogle Kuttappa, has announced his next directorial. The film features two protagonists, essayed by Sathish Kumar, and Aadhi Sai Kumar.

Sathish who had earlier played supporting roles in films like Kaththi and Ethir Neechal, and hero in Conjuring Kannappan and Sattam En Kaiyil, will be leading the yet to be titled project. Aadhi Sai Kumar will be making his Tamil cinema debut with this project.

The film’s cinematography will be handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, and music composed by Ghibran. Art direction will be overseen by Durairaj. The project will go on floors in January and is slated for release next year. More details on the project, including the cast, release date and plot, are expected to be revealed in the coming months.

What to watch this weekend?

As we wrap up this year, the last week of December is marked by a few OTT and theatrical releases in Tamil. Two films will be hitting big screens for this Christmas, action thriller Retta Thala starring Arun Vijay and Siddhi Idnani, and crime drama Sirai featuring Vikram Prabhu in the lead role. Both the films are releasing on December 25 in theatres.

Meanwhile, on the OTT front, there is Middle Class which will stream on December 24 on ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium. The comedy drama revolves around the struggles of middle-class family, featuring Munishkanth and Vijayalakshmi. There is also Revolver Rita, a crime comedy drama helmed by JK Chandru and features Keerthy Suresh in the lead role. It will stream on Netflix on December 26. Tamil reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 9 is also ongoing on JioHotstar.
