Deepika Padukone lost out on The White Lotus season 4 after refusing to audition for the series, a report on Variety India claims. It insists that the makers require all of their actors to undergo an audition before being cast in their role, but Deepika was not interested in doing so. “Auditions are a mandatory part of the casting process for The White Lotus. The makers were very keen on auditioning actors before signing them on. Deepika was not keen on auditioning and that was the reason why the White Lotus opportunity had to be passed,” the portal quoted a source.

Not just that, the report further claims that Deepika was supposed to be a part of a previous season (likely to be season 3), but had to let go of that opportunity as well since she was expecting at the time. Deepika had announced her pregnancy and thus, as per the report, she had to let go of the project at that time.
