Recently, Priyanka Chopra Jonas made international headlines after her conversation with Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert went viral. Speaking about her reason to move out of Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra said that she was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). She added that, she had people not casting me, she had beef with people and also that she was not good at playing that game and that’s why she was kind of was tired of the politics. Thereafter she decided that she needed a break and that’s when the music thing gave her an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies she didn't want to get, but she would be required to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. She also added that, since it would require grovelling and that she had worked a long time by then that she didn't feel like she wanted to do it.

Even though she did not mention any names, the naysayers were quick enough to ‘join the (unwanted and uncalled for) dots and eventually, went onto blame Karan Johar as one of the reasons for Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ exit from Bollywood. Not the one to mince her words and armed with ‘calling a spade a spade’ kind of attitude, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband Nick Jonas met Karan Johar at the recently held grand event at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), as per a report in Bollywood Hungama.

As per the same report, there was an eyewitness who saw what had transpired when Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband Nick Jonas met Karan Johar at the recently held grand event at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). The said report quoted the eyewitness stating that the minute Priyanka Chopra spotted Karan Johar, she immediately rushed to meet him and then, they chatted animatedly for a while. After that, Karan Johar teased Priyanka Chopra about the much-talked about podcast, to which, Priyanka Chopra Jonas said that she had not mentioned anyone’s name (in the podcast with Dax Shepherd).

Karan Johar and Priyanka Chopra Jonas promised to each other to catch up in LA the next time the former was there. Karan Johar also reportedly told Priyanka Chopra Jonas that he wanted to meet her as well as her daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

On the professional front, Karan Johar is busy with the shooting of his directorial venture ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. The film, which is being produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banners named Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, stars an ensemble cast including the veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi Ranveer in pivotal roles. The lead stars of the film are Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film is being readied to be released on July 28, 2023.

As for Priyanka Chopra Jonas, she is busy with the promotions of the much talked about and much awaited series ‘Citadel’. Besides Priyanka Chopra Jonas, ‘Citadel’ also stars Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in important roles. The said series will be made available on Amazon Prime Video on April 28. The series will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
