Ajith requests for privacy, says the last rites of father will be a family affair

The actor has stated that the family would like to grieve the loss in a private manner

Ever since the news broke out, condolence messages have been pouring in for the actor and his family. In the meantime, Ajith's family has sent out a statement, in which the actor has stated that they would like to grieve the loss in a private manner.

The statement, shared by Ajith's manager, Suresh Chandra, reads, " Our father, PS Mani, passed away in the early hours of this morning, in his sleep, after a long illness. He was 85. We are grateful for the care and support provided to him and our family by a number of medical professionals, especially following his debilitating stroke of four years ago. We are comforted, at this time of grief, that he lived a good life and knew the undying love of our mother, his partner for nearly six decades."

The actor requested utmost privacy at the time of grief." We appreciate the kind, comforting messages and condolences that have been coming in and ask your for understanding if we may not be able to take calls or messages in a  timely manner. His last rites will be a family affair. We trust that all who have known loss will respect our wish to grieve privately and deal with his passing with as much equanimity and dignity as possible." The letter also stated that the condolence messages can be emailed to psmanifamily@gmail.com.

It is to be noted that actor Ajith was extremely close to his father  and he had always stated that for him, family comes first. PS Mani is survived by wife Mohini and three sons, Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar.

After the film, Ajith will begin the second leg of his world tour, which is called #RIDEformutual respect.
