The new teaser of Pawan Kalyan’s OG once again confirms that the action drama is all set to hit the screens on September 25, 2025. The same date was also locked by Balakrishna’s new film, Akhanda 2, but for the last few days, there has been news going around that the film has been postponed.

With OG confirming its new date on September 25, 2025. Akhanda 2 is more or less postponed. We at OTTplay earlier reported that Akhanda 2 will mostly be released on December 5, 2025, but as per inside sources from Tollywood, Akhanda 2 is aiming at a Sankranti 2025 release.

One of the sources close to Balakrishna has revealed to us that the makers are looking at January 13, 2026, as the new release date of the film. Akhanda Thandavam is the sequel to the superhit film Akhanda and has been directed by Boyapati Srinu.

Both Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna have delivered massive blockbusters in the past and are teaming up once again for this sequel. Pragya Jaiswal plays the female lead in this film, which also has Sanjay Dutt in a key role. The shooting of the film has been wrapped up, and Balakrishna has also finished his dubbing part.

The source goes on to add that Balakrishna did not want to take on Pawan Kalyan’s OG, as they both are political friends and run in the same government in the state of Andhra. That is the reason Akhanda 2 has been postponed, and it will now hit the screens during Sankranti 2026.

During the same season, Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju and Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu are set to hit the screens as well. With this new date, the competition for Sankranti 2025 has heated up. Stay tuned for more updates.
