Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan were last seen together in Tashan, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The actors have reunited after 17 years with a Priyadarshan film Haiwaan. The film is an edge-of-the-seat thriller and went on floors today, August 23. As they began filming, Akshay shared a fun banter with Saif and Priyadarshan on his Instagram account.

On August 23, Akshay Kumar shared a clip where he can be seen holding a clapperboard where the name of the film, Haiwaan is written. The video shows Akshay having a fun banter with Saif Ali Khan as they begin shooting for the film alongside filmmaker Priyadarshan. The trio can be seen in a light mood and sharing laughter as they kick off the shooting.

Sharing the video, Akshay captioned it, "Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan…

Reacting to the video, one fan said, "Very very excited sir." Another commented, "Shatain ka bhai Haiwaan." A third fan said, "Finally Khiladi aur anari after a long time." "After tashan ek sath after so many years," read one comment.

Apart from Tashan and ahead of Haiwaan, Khan and Kumar have earlier collaborated on several hit films, including the cult classic Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998).

Priyadarshan’s Hindi remake of Oppam, titled Haiwaan, stars Saif Ali Khan as a blind caretaker and Akshay Kumar as a killer. According to Mid-Day, despite Khan's portrayal of a visually impaired caretaker skilled in Kalaripayattu, Akshay will be portrayed as a merciless, icy killer seeking revenge for his family. The two actors will look unique, but they are opting for an authentic, rough, and raw look, sporting moustaches and stubble. The roles of a former top Supreme Court judge and his daughter are yet to be filled.

As per Hindustan Times, Priyadarshan's film, Haiwaan, is translated as ‘beast’ in English. A source informed the portal, "The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it - as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play."

Meanwhile, Haiwaan is scheduled for a release in 2026. Haiwaan is produced by KVN Productions in association with Thespian Films, and jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn.
