Amid Jana Nayagan censor row, director H Vinoth praises My Lord; says 'if I speak politics, no one will come to save me'

Director H Vinoth, whose Jana Nayagan has been pending release for sometime now amid the censor row, recently took part in a directors’ interaction where he has some good words to share about the recently released Tamil film My Lord.

My Lord: What did Jana Nayagan director H Vinoth say?

My Lord is a 2026 Tamil film starring Sasikumar and Chaithra Achar in the lead roles. The film is directed by Raju Murugan and is currently running in theatres. In a recent interaction with Vikatan, directors Pandiraj, H Vinoth, and Samuthirakani along with Raju Murugan took part to talk about My Lord.

"My Lord speaks about politics that has been there for a while. In this film, when the protagonist Muthisippy gets thrashed, a journalist comes and saves him. But if I want to talk, no one will come to save me. In this film, I understood that one has to earn humans more than power or money,” H Vinoth said. He also added that youngsters might tend to hate the film at the start, but once he finishes the film, they will become kinder and more empathetic.

My Lord is a political satire and social drama that revolves around a matchstick factory worker Muthusippy who is declared dead along with wife, as per government records. However, it is at this time a man comes in search of Muthusippy coaxing him to donate his kidney.

What is Jana Nayagan’s release status?

Jana Nayagan is currently under the censor process. The latest is that the makers have withdrawn their court case from Madras High Court, with the revising committee at CBFC to watch the film. Until then, no official release date has been declared. Starring Vijay in the lead role, Jana Nayagan is billed to be the actor’s farewell film. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Priyamani and others.
