Bhavana, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming movie Anomie on January 30, recently spoke about her fascination for vampire movies. She spoke about texting Dulquer Salmaan after watching Lokah.

Malayalam actor-filmmaker Dulquer Salmaan produced the movie Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra which reimagined the tale of a yakshi (a vampire-like supernatural being) from Kerala folklore. Kalyani Priyadarshan played the lead role of Chandra, or the Kalliyankattu Neeli (a feared yakshi). Lokah went on to become a blockbuster success with even critics and audiences from across the country raving over the Malayalam movie. Now, Anomie actress Bhavana too speaks about thanking Kalyani and producer Dulquer for making the movie.

Bhavana, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming movie Anomie on January 30 recently spoke about her fascination for vampire stories in an interview with Galatta Plus. When it was pointed out that Malayalam cinema got its own vampire tale with Lokah, Bhavana spoke about reaching out to the makers.
"I texted Kalyani, and Dulquer after watching Lokah saying that I have been a huge fan of vampire since The Vampire Diaries and the original. I texted them, even the director Dominic Arun, thank you for giving us a vampire (movie)," recounted the actress.
Bhavana, who has battled unfathomable horrors in real life, admits that deep down she is still that girl who likes pink and believes in fairies and fairyland. “So maybe because of that, I get drawn to Vampire Diaries,” she said

Lokah follows a mysterious woman named Chandra, who moves to a city and starts working night shifts at a cafe. A neighborhood lad, Sunny, follows her, only to realise that she has supernatural powers and is in fact Neeli, the vengeful being from Malayalam folklore. Dominic Arun helmed the movie, which featured Kalyani as Neeli and Naslen as Sunny.
Bhavana has not been very active in Malayalam cinema in the recent years, except for few releases such as Nadikar and Hunt.
