Arasan, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Silambarasan in the lead role, and directed by filmmaker Vetrimaaran, has gone on floors following its announcement. The film is touted to be an action drama and set in the same universe of Vetrimaaran’s previous film Vada Chennai.

Vetrimaaran who has earlier worked with Vijay Sethupathi in the Viduthalai duology, has given an interesting role for the actor who will be sharing screen space with Simbu for the first time.

Arasan, touted to be a gangster action flick, will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Meanwhile, Arasan is not a direct sequel to Vada Chennai, as confirmed by Vetrimaaran.
