What did Aamir Khan say about Arijit Singh lending his voice to Ek Din?

Aamir Khan made a surprise, largely private visit to singer Arijit Singh’s ancestral home in Jiaganj, West Bengal, shortly after Arijit’s announced retirement from Bollywood playback singing. This meeting (February 2026) sparked speculation about a possible collaboration or Aamir's attempt to convince Arijit to reconsider. Now, on February 9, Aamir Khan Productions shared a picture of Aamir and Arijit discussing something on their Instagram account.

They captioned the post, "Thank you, Arijit, for bringing so much heart to the music of Ek Din." Aamir Khan personally worked on the song with Arijit Singh, and the session was held in the singer's hometown.

He also added that he will not stop making music and that he still has some commitments to fulfill, which will be released this year and after that, he will not sign any new assignments.

Speaking about Ek Din, Aamir told News18 that it is a pure romantic film. It is very classic kind of romance genre and as an audience, he is a sucker for mushy romantic films.

"I love mushy romance. It’s that classic, slightly magical, love story. And I loved the script when I heard it for the first time. I am so glad we finally went with Sai Pallavi. She is such a good actor and she has done an amazing job," he shared.

Meanwhie, produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din will hit cinemas on May 1, 2026.
