Akhanda 2 locks Dec 12 release, Mowgli and Psych Siddhartha get postponed

Akhanda 2's release was stalled at the last minute due to a case filed in the Madras High Court against the makers, as they owed money worth crores to multiple parties. The action drama had no option but to get postponed.

Akhanda 2 set for a massive release on December 12, 2025

Yesterday, the court lifted the stay, and the makers revealed that Akhanda 2 will hit the screens on December 12, 2025. This made fans happy but disappointed a few young directors and actors who had planned to release their respective films on December 12. But now that Balakrishna has arrived on this date, they have no other option but to postpone their films.

Several films have been disrupted because of Akhanda 2, but two films, Psych Siddhartha and Mowgli, have been affected the most. First in line is Psych Siddhartha, featuring Nandu.

The romantic drama marks his comeback after a very long gap, and Nandu was confident that the film would be a hit, as none other than Rana Daggubati and his father Suresh Babu are releasing it worldwide. The film, which was set for a December 12, 2025, release, will now be out on January 1, 2026

Next in line is Mowgli, from the makers of the award-winning film Colour Photo, now streaming on OTTplay Premium. Directed by Sandeep Raj and featuring Roshan Kanakala in the lead role, the romantic drama was also set for a December 12, 2025, release.

When his film got postponed, director Sandeep Raj vented his frustration on social media, only to get trolled. He has now decided to bring his film out on December 13, 2025, a day after Akhanda 2 releases.

Along with these films, nearly five other films that were set to release on December 25, 2025, have also moved their release dates due to the Akhanda 2 fiasco. The makers of these films have yet to lock in new dates. For now, Akhanda 2 is all set for a massive release on December 12, 2025.
