Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is making national headlines after it was announced that he would be leading a biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled Maa Vande. The actor is best known for the Malayalam action film Marco, the sequel to which had courted controversy earlier. Interestingly, the makers of Marco have registered the title of the sequel, Lord Marco.

Marco is a 2024 Malayalam movie, directed by Haneef Adeni and starring actor Unni Mukundan in the lead role. Earlier, Unni Mukundan had said that the sequel plans for Marco were scrapped but the lead actor’s claims were refuted by the film’s producer Shareef Muhammed. Now, reports emerge that Marco producers have registered the sequel title as Lord Marco. A photo of the official papers are doing the rounds on social media.

Telugu filmmaker Kranthi Kumar CH will script and direct the upcoming biopic, which is slated to release in all major languages in the country. Unni Mukundan will play Modi in the biopic, which will trace PM's political journey and depict the bond with his late mother.
