Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD. His character – an immortal warrior – was tasked with protecting the mother of Kalki, Sumathi (played by Deepika Padukone). His character, much like others, was directly inspired from Mahabharata.
