Avihitham release date

Avihitham is scheduled to release in theatres on October 10, 2025. However, the makers have also kept paid premiere at 9pm on October 9, 2025, a not-so-common practice for Malayalam movies. There was also a special celebrity preview show on October 8 which also garnered positive reviews.

Actors Unniraj, Renji Kankol, and Vineeth Chakyar play the key roles in the film, along with Dhanesh Koliyat, Rakesh Ushar, Ajith Punnad, Aneesh Chemmarathi, T Gopinathan, Vrinda Menon, Vijisha Nileshwaram, and Ammini Chandralayam.

Avihitham means illicit affair. Much like Senna Hegde’s most films, Avihitham is also set in Kanhangad. An illicit affair is suspected after Prakashan spots a young woman with his neighbour Vinod. More people become privy of the incident, and now they are determined to catch the culprits.

The Avihitham trailer begins with Prakashan heading to Venu’s house to meet him, and share an exciting piece of news. Venu then warns Prakashan from sharing this news with anyone else. But more people come to know and are determined to find the evidence. They identify the man to be Vinod, and wonder who the woman is. Another man quips that one needs to keep an eye on all women, whether she is the wife or sister. The men come with an elaborate plan to nab the couple red-handed.

What to expect from Avihitham

In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Avihitham director Senna Hegde said that the upcoming film is a comedy-drama. He promised a locally-flavoured film, with a rooted story and everyday characters. The film would entertain the viewers with its humour even while portraying a bunch of townspeople's obsession with finding out more about an affair. The Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam director said that the film also has a message.
